WHAT IS THE CITIZENSHIP-BY-INVESTMENT PROGRAMME?
The Citizenship-by-Investment programme, established in 1984 by the Government of St. Kitts & Nevis, allows citizenship to be granted to persons who qualify and who make an economic contribution to the country.
 
HOW DO I APPLY TO THE CITIZENSHIP-BY-INVESTMENT PROGRAMME?
One can apply through any Belmont Resorts authorized agent worldwide.
 
HOW CAN I QUALIFY FOR CITIZENSHIP?
To qualify for citizenship, the regulations require an investment of at least US$400,000 in an approved real estate development, plus the payment of government fees, other fees and taxes. In addition, each applicant must fulfill the formal and character requirements of the Government through its due diligence process.
 
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON APPLICANTS’ NATIONALITY?
There are no restrictions on applicants’ nationality.
 
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROCESSING THE CITIZENSHIP-BY-INVESTMENT APPLICATION AND SUBMITTING IT TO THE GOVERNMENT OF ST. KITTS?
The application must be submitted by one of the local processing agents authorized by the Government. Belmont Resorts can supply a list of competent agents.
 
ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS AS TO WHO CAN APPLY?
Any individual can apply either independently or with their dependants insofar as the dependents fall into one of the following categories:
 
• Child dependants under 16
• Child dependants 18 to 25, unmarried and still in full time higher education
• Child dependants with physical or mental disability
• Adult parents or grandparents of the Main Applicant or Spouse over the age of 65 and dependent on the applicant and living with them.
 
WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION COSTS?
The Government fees are payable in accordance with the following schedule (Government Fees US$): 
 
• Main Applicant  - 50,000
• Spouse of Main Applicant  - 25,000
• Child Dependent below 18  - 25,000 each
• Child Dependent (18 – 25) - 50,000 each
• Parent (over 65) - 50,000 each
• Due Diligence (Main Applicant) - 7,500 each
• Due Diligence (Each Dependent over 16) - 4,000 each
 
Fees for processing agents vary and it is recommended that a fee proposal be obtained from the selected service provider before engaging with that provider.
 
WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME TO PROCESS AN APPLICATION?
The timeframe to process an application is approximately four to six (4 to 6) months from the date of submission of the completed application. 
 
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF OBTAINING A ST. KITTS & NEVIS PASSPORT?
Holders of a St. Kitts & Nevis passport are allowed to travel visa-free to more than 100 countries worldwide including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and countries belonging to the European Union.
 
WHAT IS THE VALIDITY OF THE PASSPORT?
The passport will be valid for 10 years and may be renewed thereafter. 
 
IS DUAL CITIZENSHIP ALLOWED?
The St. Kitts & Nevis government allows dual citizenship without restrictions and in addition, it does not publish any information on persons who acquire citizenship and neither will it report your citizenship acquisition to your present country of citizenship. 
 
DO I GET A REFUND IF MY APPLICATION IS DECLINED?
If your application is declined all funds held in escrow are refunded less the initial reservation deposit of US$10,000.
